Award function was presided by Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon'ble Union Minister of Mines, Steel and Labour & Employment, Govt of India.

National Safety Council - Maharashtra Chapter awarded Tata Steel Limited, Wire Division (Tarapur) with "Safety award - A Plaque" in Heavy Engineering Group for achieving "Lowest Average Accident Frequency Rate" (Factories working over one million man-hours). This award was presented on September 20, 2014 at Hotel West End (Marine Lines).
Mr S P Bidikar - Plant Head TWP-I, Mr D H Patil - Plant Head TWP-II along with safety professional and Union Committee members of TWP-I and TWP-II receiving the "Certificate of Merit" from NSC - Maharashtra Chapter for achieving Zero Accident Frequency Rate in the contest year in Heavy Engineering Industries. The Award function was held on September 21, 2013 at Mumbai.
Mumbai Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts, 2013 was held on August 31 and September 1, 2013 at Mumbai. In total, 265 organisations participated in the convention. Nine SGA teams of Global Wires Business participated in the QC competition and were awarded gold and silver.

National Convention on Quality Concepts 2013 was held from 20th to 23rd December 2013 at Kolkata. In total, about 1,200 teams participated from all over India. It is of great pleasure to declare that 6 SGA teams of Global Wires Business participated in the QC competition and were awarded Par Excellence and Excellence Awards.

Honorable Minister for Labour & Employment, Govt of India presented “Winners Trophy and Certificate" to Tata Steel - Wire Division for Outstanding Performance in Industrial Safety during the year 2011 based on Lowest Average Frequency Rate. To recognise the industries for good Safety performance, the Government of India instituted National Safety Awards (NSA) in the year 1965.
